Requirements, requirement, requirements. What are these to you?

In 1921 Christian Lous Lange said "Technology is a useful servant but a dangerous master." as part of the Nobel Peace Prize lecture.

A more true statement cannot be found. I could easily spend the majority of my salary on technology just because I like computer equipment and toys. Many years back (early teens) I had a lesson on wants, needs and means. Three terms that, if correctly applied, can help prioritise where you spend your personal time, your money or your companies money.

Started a Business? Now what?

So, you're starting or have started a business. What now from a technology side?

In this post, I will share some thoughts for the business owner who is either starting or has been running a small business. Now we all know size matters when it comes to technology and spend.

Technology is an enabler, however without processes is likely to cause more pain and confusion than just having good processes and little to no technology. To be competitive or keep yourself from losing your mind, some tech is needed to complement good processes.

Technology Passion Requires Hardware

Before I get into any "useful" posts, I thought it important to share some of the equipment I have which I use to test bits of software here and there.

Ramblings - My First Post

Why is an accountant doing a blog and what is the goal? A fair question and one which I have thought through before beginning the leap into the land of Blogging.

I love technology and love the idea of having technology work for the business and not the other way round. Too often, I feel technology is dictating where many businesses are in the journey to profitability. Those companies that are profitably have, at some point, needed to assess the technology platforms they use. They have needed to decide where their line is in terms of fixed costs, technology platforms, scalability and partner relationships.
